Tai Chi and Taijiquan
Tai Chi, or more correctly, Tai Chi Chuan, is a highly effective Chinese martial art with roots extending back over 4000 years. Its name, literally translated means “Grand Ultimate Fist.”
During the 20th century Tai Chi has become popular as a health practice, with millions of practitioners worldwide.
Tai Chi’s popularity stems from its method of practice… slow, graceful, and gentle movements which improve balance and flexibility, strengthen bones, reduce stress, improve focus, and lower blood pressure.
After learning the solo Tai Chi form, students may choose to continue with two-person training (Push Hands) and self defense application of the basic techniques.
